Beliefs

By ashleyanne 2010-04-26 17:40:56
Everyone needs something to believe in, but who is right. Everyone will tell you that their view is the correct one but no one can really know. Many people believe in God, many don’t some believe in many Gods others say there is just one. The more I learn and study the more I am beginning to believe the old ways are the best ways when it comes to belief and communion with nature and one another. Here now I will outline some of my closest held beliefs and I can say without a doubt it will be offensive to some people. I really think that’s a shame too, we should be accepting of others regardless of how they believe.

I believe in reincarnation. There I said it, it’s out there and I won’t take it back. For the past three decades I have felt that there is much more out there than simply what we find in the pages of one book The Christians would have us all to believe as they do and that the world is one way and one way only. Let me be clear before I go any further, I have nothing against Christians or Christianity. That being said, I feel that a God made this world as diverse as it is for reasons we cannot know. I don’t believe the Christian doctrine that Claims that all those without Jesus are simply lost and going to hell. That must be quite a large place to accommodate pretty much everyone that lives now, has in the past and will in the future. Therefore I believe in an older and much more common if not widely publicized belief in reincarnation. There are higher powers in this universe, likely many Gods and everyone is here for the same reasons, we are born either a new soul coming in to being, or an older soul who has been here many times in the past. The goal is simple, live as many lives as it takes to achieve higher consciousness and return to being one with the universe and the powers who control it from which we came. The lessons learned, carry over to the next life even if the memories are frequently not. We come here to experience the wonder and beauty of life and of nature; each lifetime and even the time and place we are reborn are chosen by the soul who has passed. All souls must at some time or another experience all the many aspects of life so you may be rich in one life poor the next or even sometime in the future, just because you were one thing in a certain life does not mean you must be the opposite in the next life just during one of your many returns it must happen in order to advance. Male one life female the next, poor, rich, the list goes on but you understand the point.

A Christian will tell you believe as we do or else you will go to hell forever, the devil controls all in this world but his time is short. I don’t believe in the devil, I believe that the real evil in this world lies within the hearts of men, we are all good and evil at the same time but we have free will and it our choice as to how we live and conduct ourselves, not some great monster who is the opposite of good. The things I believe were in existence long before the concept of one God and his complete opposite the devil. When the Christians rose to power with the help of governments creating laws and persecuting all those who did not see the world as the newly formed religion did they taught that their way was the only way and on pain of death and torture people were converted and the old ways were forced to go in to hiding. Despite all that we have been through in our history we survived, the ones who still believe as I do now that the old ways were somehow the correct ways and that we are all interconnected in the whole cosmic grand scheme of things. I would never try to convince someone who believes differently from me that they are wrong; we must all chose which path we follow and we all follow the path that seems most comfortable to the individual. I live by a new code now and one that makes much more sense, it can be summed up in one phrase but not completely explained by it; “an it harm none, do what thou will.” There is a general list of ways in which we should interact with each other and with nature and the Gods that created everything, but that one line is what we tend to live by first and foremost. I will close this with something to ponder if you will, do you actually believe in your heart that which you have been taught, or is it merely a convenient way to fit in, don’t rock the boat and simple conform to those around us every day. Take some time and read about ideas and beliefs of others without just dismissing all others as wrong, what if you were to accidently find a group that feels just as you secretly do. Then what? I can’t say that’s your choice and your path to find.
