Feminism

By katrina 2010-05-04 03:41:04
Begining whe the first pilgrims voyaged to the New World, they brought along their ideas of male supremacy. Women have always worked hard to stay a strong and respected member of society. Although many would agree that women are regarded as the "glue of the family," this does not show how they can be an important memeber in the occupational world. During WWI, women truly made a stand in the workforce that had previously dominated by men. This small inspiration sparked the wave of women who wanted to have the same rights as men. It was these early feminists that pave the way for what we are today. I am proud to consider myself a feminist and I can only hope that we, as a world, have young women now that are just as brave and non-conforming as the women before us.
