The Concept Of Time |

Time is but an event in which we as humans regard as empty space for which we attempt to fill with the daily routines, and occasional spontaneous moments that make up our lives. But do we really understand the passage of time? As children we give it very little concern. we view it as moments that we can run and play and watch afternoon cartoons for the most part. When we grow up to teenagers, we begin to hold some value on time, using it for studies, hanging out with friends, and the always enjoyable part time job. Then we arrive into adulthood and it is then when we start really examining and valuing time. As we work, raise children of our own, and basically deal with the everyday chores of life. We start fighting for that piece of time for us to sit quietly and relax our bodies from a hard days work, enjoy the company of friends, family, or even if we're fortunate enough, the softness of a lover.
But even though we're much older and compared to our younger selves, much wiser, do we still fully understand the concept of time? Now we've lived out our lives, doing things that we wanted to do as children, making our share of mistakes and hopefully learning from them, meeting new people and even contributing to our worlds population with children of our own. Now we are "mature adults", sporting hair of grey and white, or even none at all, our faces showing the wrinkles brought forth from years of life experiences. Our bodies slowly reaching that point where they will want to take that final relaxing sleep. Have we then learned and understood the concept of time? Perhaps if you view it as such:
Time is that moment when the past is remembered, the present is enjoyed and the future is embraced for time can heal all wounds, and make most things possible. Time is those moments in which we existed. |
