For those who are interested: What I DO NOT WANT in my coven |

If you're interested in Wicca/witchcraft because you wanna be cool or because you're gothic and you think wicca is about tacky purple fairies, dark roses and black butterflies, get lost. Or if you're simply trying to be rebellious, trying to go against the mainstream or rebel against what your parents want for you. I have no patience for that because it gives Wicca a bad name. It's embarrassing.(you might just try gothcraft instead, it's a valid form of witchcraft, but not the kind I practice.)
Or if you think Wicca is the ancient religion of the Celts, i.e. that you think Wicca comes from the Celts....You're barking up the wrong tree.
I want intelligent, well-educated, committed people who are or have been committed enough to study for themselves to learn more about witchcraft and where it came from.
And another thing I don't want: If you practice native-american style wicca, or you think you can just blend native american and wicca, don't come to my house. In my coven we are going to focus on the European tribes and their ways. We'll do things the European Way. I'm not racist, Native American is great and all, Hell, my beloved grandmother was a native american. (half). But Witchcraft and Wicca are a European/Eurasian/middle eastern phenomena, and I don't mix ceremony.
So if you're going to be in my coven, and you have a taste for native american, do it on your own time, is all I'm saying.
I want people who are committed. I don't want people who think being in a coven is just something cool to do. Coven is secret. Coven is family, Coven is blood bond. There are karmic ties between members of a coven. Coven members are there for eachother no matter what. There are rules, it's not just anything goes, whatever you want. There are very old, traditional rules for covens that go back many centuries. These are to be respected.
The two other things I'll warn against:1.) I don't want you if you use Wicca to justify or prop up your alternative sex life. I have no problem with homosexuality, I just get tired of running into people who want to form a coven as a cover for just seeking out people that want to have orgies with them.
ABOUT SEX: let's take a brief detour to talk about sex and its reputation in wicca.
This is where I stand. Wicca is sexual. Witchcraft is sexual. Sexuality, when mature, responsible and non-harmful, is perfectly healthy and natural. In Wicca and in the Coven, while we respect other people's wishes and personal boundaries, we also don't hide our sexuality, sexual feelings or shy away from other's. Wicca is highly sexual and the coven is a sexual environment, just like everwhere else on this good earth. In my coven, sex happens. and it doesn't always happen in private. sometimes it happens ritually between a priest and a high priestess. sometimes it happens spontaneously between coven members when the time is right and the situation is appropriate. Sometimes, it's actually a part of Beltane festivities. So if you think being naked is dirty or objectionable, or if you think sex in witchcraft is inappropriate, then you're train "don't stop here."
But here's where the hard focus comes in, and if you can't swallow this, then my coven is probably not for you.
I'm not all about turning coven rites into one big orgy. I prefer that natural, healthy sexuality take place between two people, because I believe that that's the best reflection of the fertility of nature. whatever you wanna do sexually on your own time, your business, but on coven time, there has to be some order to the way sex takes place. I've seen what its like when more than two people get involved in a sexual act within a coven, it tends to generate into disorder and upsets the natural balance between the members.
The Last Thing about Sex: While I tend to practice in the style of more traditional covens, such as gardnerian and alexandrian, I am careful to avoid those things in Gardnerian craft which are objectifying to women. I believe that what Mr. Gardner received in the (what was it...50's..20's...40's?) from the New Forest Coven, was an ancient set of rituals invented almost entirely by a kinky man to dupe and exploit women. Any one with half a brain will see this if they read the official Gardnerian book of shadows.
So while I occasionally employ Gardnerian games, I do not generally promote gardner's system of taking advantage of women.)
About skyclad: If you're one of those fluffy bunnies who thinks skyclad is dirty or inappropriate or even exploitative, then don't apply for my coven. While I don't force people to attend in the nude, I hold that skyclad is favorable and acceptable and at most of my rites I will be nude. And I invite my members to do so as well.
My last Warning: This is about fluffy bunnies. If you are a fluffy bunny wiccan, I don't want you for my coven. I, like most other witches, hold that harming others is unnacceptable and unadvisable. I simply believe that fluffy bunny pagans have used this (comparatively young) axiom for too long to avoid having to think about what constitutes real harm. Being a witch is all about keeping the balance. A witch is a priestess of nature. For instance, if a poor animal is suffering in misery and I have to kill it to put it out of its misery, then that's what has to be. You see, fluffy bunnies don't think that far. And I want thinkers for my coven. Compassionate, non-harmful thinkers that understand the balance. We don't kill people, that's for sure, but we also have to understand what constitutes acceptable magic and what doesn't.
know that alot of this may sound awfully cruel, cold, or unfriendly. But I am not here to be friendly. I am here to function as High Priestess. Witchcraft is serious business. And before a coven can form bonded, caring family-like members, there has to be a formal stage of formation first.
