Let me tell you a story...

I ran down the sidewalk, looking behind me every few seconds, trying to see the monster that I knew was chasing me. Something grabbed my ankle and I fell. Pain blossomed in my head and everything went dark. The darkness goes on forever. I'm curled up on a black stone floor, rocking and crying and shaking. Something moves and I wipe my tears away as I watch a tall man step out of the shadows of my mind. His hair is thick and black and hangs to his waist in one braid. Wings extend from his shoulderblades, dark gray that gets lighter as it gets closer and closer to the wingtips, which are so white that you'd never have imagined them around the original gray. He is very, very pale and even at five years old, I know he is handsome. He kneels and his wings open over me and he pulls me into his arms. "Don't cry, little one. I'm here, and I will never leave you." That is what he told me, so many years ago, and it is true. He has never left me. When I woke up, I was standing in a fighting postion. The Thing was gone, and I was safe, exepty for the huge bump on my head. This is a record of an actual memory and it was the beggining of my life as a pagan. Blessed be, all of you.
