A rendezvous in the woods. |

| Seldom do we take the time to sit back and watch the world turn in perfect concord with nature. Yesterday, I took some time to brave the rain and set out through the misty hills to find some solace in the time peace of the forests. The rain had ceased falling, and now the staccato drip of summer droplets matched my pace as I snaked my way up the hillside. Upon cresting the hillside, the trees enveloped me and soon I found myself sitting on a fallen log. I quieted my thought, and gave a simple thanks to the Goddess, pausing to acknowledge the Green Man's craft. In this sylvan cage I knew my place, its' verdant barricade was not to keep me in, but to keep other's out. Each breath was slower than the last, seconds and minutes ran together, soon an hour passed. But for I, all time and movement was ceased. Each sound softened, and thought enlivened. Before I could search for words to ponder, I felt as though I knew the answer. Love life, love man, love Earth. Eschew fear, the base of evil. Heed the souls of man and beast, consort not with the Dark craft. Today is ripe with life, see to it that tomorrow shall follow likewise. This, I suppose, was my Juno or higher self. The voice was not ethereal or particularly moving. It came from inside me and spoke like my own voice, but it seemed older, wiser. After that, it stopped. I made my way back to the house and thought it over before deciding to blog about it. I was happy to experience this, I had honored my higher-self a few months ago and had asked for guidance. Considering the events leading up to this, I'm grateful that I had received that message when I did. |
