Coming Full Circle (Testimony part 3)

By angelicagreenwitch 2011-10-27 11:39:58
So what did I do once I learned more about the Wiccan faith? Well, I started learning more, knowing exactly what I’m looking for. But I got so lonely all alone, doing small spells in the dead of night. I grew up Christian, where you have others with you at almost all times, helping you learn and learning from you, fellowshipping and worshiping together. Kudos to the solitary witches out there. You are an inspiration to me. To be alone all the time takes a strength I just don’t know that I have.
Alone time did teach me a few things. First of all, I have a strong, but torn, affinity. I’m bound to the earth. I can’t imagine being without the seasons, the soil, and vegetables grown by my own hands. But I’m also bound to water. I LOVE BATHS. I say that, but people don’t realize how sacred baths are to me. I love swimming and drinking ten gallons of water a day (that’s only a slight exaggeration, I swear).
The second thing I learned was that I have a gift for meditation. Which is good, since I have no one to talk to. My meditations have helped me learn more about myself and gain more control of my thoughts. I’m not as scared or unstable as I used to be. I’m more confident because I know who I am.
My roots will always impact my future life. While I don’t always agree with Christianity, it positively impacted my life, and I won’t be able to forget that. I will probably never be the liberal/ libertarian that the Wiccan stereotype is known for because of my strong conservative republican roots. But who knows; I’m still young.
Lastly, I find that my denomination of Wicca seems to be eclectic. I don’t find anything wrong with the other major denominations or anything. I just like the “fly by the seat of my pants” feel. I’m a planner, but an impromptu tea charging spell is SO useful. I don’t want to cast a full circle every time I feel like making a dream sachet. Full circles need space and candles, which the first I don’t have and the second sets off the fire alarms in my house . Then again, I might’ve interpreted the ideologies of the denominations wrong. C’est la vie. Blessed be.
