Do you believe that Christian verison of their holiday has Pagan roots.I do for many reasons. For example Christians will have Advent wreath, four candles, one lite each week before the Christmas mass. The ancient pagans, Had the same only it had 12 candles, each lite one of the 12 days the sun stands during, before its increased time in the sky. From the Yule Tree to the Great Feast of Yule, Wassilling, gift giving. It has been around long before, the birth of Jesus, The date of Dec. 25, having been picked by a pope in around 525 as the offical date, is so near the Pagan Winter Solstice, Dec 20th or the 21. The similarities go on. I think and this is my own opinion, if you look back through ancient history, there will be many many, things that Christianty has now that was in fact Pagan to begin with. I feel that they needed a Syllabus, and what better one to mimic that one that has been around since the first cave drawings.
What is you view on this.
