| In the time before when the Druid were free to roam up in the high lands , Stood a Great Oak tree . It came to pass one night upon the Moon full of light , a Priest was preparing for winter Solstice with Cakes and ales and Hays in bails , Look towards the great Oak tree , Lo and behold what did he see ? ,,, a Fine Deer , head tucked in his paws , The Priest spoke and did say ,,, " O beloved Deer have no fear ,,For the horned God had provided me with all I need for the winters that come near ," The Priest stood in silence and could have swore the Deer did speak with the voice a man The Priest Says to the Deer " Have you Spoken what have you said " The Deer Raised his head , and lo and behold a face of man the Deer did have ! The priest knowing That surly this was a God did bow ,,then the God spoke and did say " No need to bow or worship me ,As it is I who is honored by your presence " The Priest did rise and say " O horned God How may I serve you ? " Replied the horned God " I come to Celebrate this winters bounty with you as Now I have awoke from a long summer slumber , and Mighty Thirsty And hungry am I " The Priest did reply " sure Cakes and ales Have I , Come on by !" The priest did Cut some Cake and poured some Ale for him and The God , and Brought it forth ,, The God looked at the Cup of ale and did say in a bellowing laugh " How may I drink this fine ale !? ,As I have no hands to hold the cup ...? ( at this time the towns people had arrived) " Their was a loud laugh amongst the people , one of them pour a bowl of ale for the Horned god The Horned god Looked upon the ale and said ." A fine ale this is" ,,and drank it up in one Gulp Red in his face and his belly full he let out a loud Burp , then suddenly did appear Many Creatures almost as if by Majick they did come near The people animals and Horned God Drank and Danced t under the great Oak tree...enjoying the bounty of the fall harvest ...the more they danced the more they ate the more they ate ,,the More they drank , Filling the land with Glee and their hearts with joy till asleep they did fall All under the great Oak tree |
