Keep yourself physically active

If you are regular at your exercises, you can easily lose weight, your blood sugar can stay in control, and sensitivity to insulin can go low. Insulin plays a vital role in metabolism. Include foods that are fibre rich and reduce your intake of foods that are high in carbohydrates.

Intake of fibre rich foods can keep blood sugar levels in control. Hence one should have more of fibrous foods and less of oily fatty foodstuff. Eating fibrous food also helps in promoting weight loss. This is because a person may feel full after eating such food.
Foods that are high in carbohydrates have a higher glycaemia index. Hence do not give up on them completely, simply reduce your intake of carbohydrates.

Choose whole grains over refined grains

Half of your grains should be whole grains. Whole grains help maintain blood sugar levels. To improve your immunity and overall health, losing even a little bit of weight can help you reduce your weight.

Try to reduce your weight

Individuals who have higher weight have a higher risk of acquiring diabetes. Hence try to lose weight if you have not yet acquired the disorder.
