Documenting my journey D1

By ButterflyBeauty 2016-10-18 16:10:05
It's not really day one, more like day 61. But day one blogging about it. I'm currently reading The Wicca Handbook by Eileen Holland, and am about a third of the way through that, and Bucklands Complete Book of Witchcraft, but I'm still in the introduction on that one. I'm a slow reader.
I've also started a Book of Shadows, but I like the term Grimoire better. More fun to say. Of coarse, I'm sticking to basic info because it's my first one, and I don't feel at all ready to even touch magick yet so I'm mostly focusing on the spiritual aspect. I feel a sense of peace taking time to sit and meditate on the goddess and god, learning the balance of the universe and even the power and energy of it. It is a sense of peace and happiness I didn't have when I was a Christian.
As a Christian I couldn't help feeling the entire institution was one giant guilt trip. Don't get me wrong, Christianity treated me very well and I content in my faith, but I believe one should never just feel content, but happy and want to grow in their spirituality. I have already grown more I research everything that goes into Wicca than the past decade as a Christian. And I am loving every second of it.
