What in the world is the problem with people? I'm not saying ALL christians are bad, but WOW, the ones that are make up for ALL of the ones that aren't. I have a wiccan friend who has me do a tarot reading for her every month or so. This time she brought a friend. No big deal right? First thing I noticed was a crucifix around her neck. Uh-oh. So we were introduced, and my friend sat across from me and her friend directly next to her. I began to shuffle and her friend began to ask questions. I simply said: "During a tarot reading, I prefer quiet so I can concentrate. I don't mean to be rude, but you can ask all your questions at the end, okay?" As soon as she heard the word 'tarot', she shut up, got stiff, and lost the color to her face. Oh boy. So, during the entire reading, she kept looking around. She looked like any moment she would see demons crawling from the floor to drag her into a pit of lava. Talk about the "fear of god." So, after the reading, I calmly explained that my religion is not Satanist, it's Wiccan. I explained our morals and ideals, and the fact that I use tarot as a decision tool is very simple to Christians using "Bible-Dipping" as one. She then calmed down and was completely fine. She even asked if she could schedule a reading with me! It just goes to show, I guess, that if you are calmly speaking to a level-headed person, living in harmony IS possible! :)
