| More disconnected strangeness from me, I’m afraid... What is a person’s first thought when the topic of angels comes to mind? Do you see creatures of unimaginable beauty... perfectly contoured features, truly majestic stature - great wings tipped with gold and silver? Do you see them enslaved? Let me explain. It is today’s ongoing irony that such wonderful beings as angels have been (as with so much else that is Pagan) kidnapped by younger religions and moulded into ‘servitude’ to suit said newer belief systems. Before this blog gets into the full swing of things however, I’d like to quickly point out that this particular ‘kidnapping’ as I quite nastily have put it (sorry) did come with a massive boon – the art, the imagery! ...For that, I’m actually grateful. But in continuation; if anyone here - a veritable Wiccan, Witch or any other truly believes angels are to be regarded the domain of mainstream faiths – reconsider! Angels are to me, the ultimate manifestations of positivity and purity from the indescribable element of Spirit that drenches the many, many aspects of this Multiverse – an eternal spectrum of dimensions - one of these happening to be our very own physical plane. People could define angels in ‘black and white’ – comparing them as the ultimate opposites to daemons. But no, there is no ultimate good, and there is no ultimate evil. To believe such a thing indicates you see the Universe as a human’s domain - as for example, the Christian God’s domain. I’ve said it before, I’ll repeat myself: The Universe was not made by human hands!!!! In fact, I think it’s rather arrogant to think us humans are the owners of the Universe – that the deities we happen to love and adhere to would place humanity rather than what we are distilled: (Life!!!) above everything else that happens to exist in the Universe. But wait; of course, we don’t know what else exists in the Universe, do we? I’ll take a little guess: perhaps... more life? All life is equal and wondrous. All life should be cherished – to get a bit poetic for a moment; life is the very touch of the divine Goddess. As is the same reason deities are a human neccety in order for us to communicate within the immaterial dimensions – for the Celestial All to communicate with us! – we perceive such shapes and forms from the ether realm that we may interpret to certain degrees. Depending on the near infallible complexity of how (on earth!) these manifestations occur – it could be simplified I suppose, that the energies emerged from more negative spectrums produce ‘manifestations’ to humans that provoke more negative emotional responses – or rather, ‘appearances’ and ‘traits’ that the entity has, so to speak. Dangerous, destructive daemons that are fuelled by pain and fear for example. And then we have angels once again – not polar opposites to daemons, no - (can one place the Great Unconscious, the Akashic records, or untouchable Chaos itself into a fundamentally mortal scale?!!!) but what in my eyes become entities ranging from much more positive spectrums of the eternal Spirit! Does anyone else here think that when we’re happy, our minds become clearer, more able to connect ideas, etc? My speculation is that angels are very much akin to this effect – that these particular manifestations – purified from the limitations of physicality, fluctuations in emotional ‘energy’; are perhaps the greatest emissaries – the greatest empathisers of the Great All, the Goddess and God – that could ever truly exist – besides, and this to me is the really important bit to remember, -other- deities! It’s all stardust from the same nebula here... And as a closing thought for this blog – in what some would call the Afterlife (but there is NO after!!! – time is not linear, damn it!!!) our spirits alone, yet as one (I personally think this description of our essential essence does us no justice) exists unrestrained, unconfined, as our purest form. But do our ‘spirits’ then simply add to the Great Unconscious, free from even the (human) principle of... free? Do we still choose whether or not to take up another mortal life? Or do we – can we, take up another form instead? If a person is unbelievably lucky enough to be visited by an angel, are they in truth after such a manifestation, awed of what humans essentially can become alone after passing on? Pure, unlimited entities enshrouded in the Great All’s divine, limitless will that lasts for eternity... angels? +++Though this blog’s creation was very much a spontaneous spur-of-the-moment thing; it’s not going to stop me blaming its existence upon perhaps the most captivating angel I have ever laid eyes upon in art, one I have loved since I was 12 years old; check it out please! – Archangel Gabriel from Simone Martini’s Annunciation (rise above the religious overtones here – appreciate the mastery of the painting alone!)+++ |
