| This is an exerpt from a post I responded to. There may be those of you who disagree. That's fine. You have every right in the world to. Secondly, all of this silly nonsense that some people here are so fond of spreading about spells should not be cast to influence another, with or without their consent, should be stopped. It is pure 100% BS. For centuries past, people have came to the Wicca, the “Wise Ones” for our help in matters that range from everything from money to love to justice, to healing. We did not get the name “Wise Ones” simply because someone made it up because it sounded cool. We were the doctors, the healers, the counselors, and even judges and lawyers to the ancients. Of course the Wiccan Rede states, “An Harm Ye None, Do as Thy Will”. If you use your common sense you will realize that this is an impossible task to accomplish. “None” means just that: n-o-n-e. That encompasses everything be it plant, mineral, animal, or even spiritual entities. You cannot take a breath of air without harming something. You cannot take a step without harming something. Every time you clean your hands with hand sanitizer you murder millions of microscopic life forms. Is that a bit too literal? Yes, it probably is. However, you people who sit in judgement and say that you simply can not cast a spell that will influence another’s will must see things in a totally black and white perspective. Have you ever done a Home Blessing? I have done several Home Blessings / Cleansings. Each time I do one, what is it that I do? I remove negative energies or entities from that home. Am I not influencing those energies? Am I not making those entities do something against their will by making them find another residence? I certainly am. Has anyone here ever done a binding spell or a protection spell because a young child is being abused by someone? I most certainly have. I have done it to protect that child. Did this not interfere with the free will of the abuser? Yep, it sure did. Do I feel as I have violated the Wiccan Rede? I certainly DO NOT. Why? Because of my INTENT in the matter. My intent was for the best possible results for the residents of those homes and the future of that child. I assume full responsibility for my actions. What about innocent little spells you may have cast for yourself? Ever did a spell for a promotion at work? Know anyone who has and the spell worked? Guess what, you harmed someone else who was in line for that promotion with you. How about love spells? We all hear the same thing over and over and over. If you cast a love spell, don’t cast it on an individual. Cast it in some general way so that your “one true love” will be out there somewhere and find you. Well la ti da, whether you admit it or not you just directly influenced another person’s will. So what do you do? Quite simply you do two things. First of all at the end of your spell you ask the Goddess that is it is at all possible that none be harmed by your actions. This lets Mother know for certain that you have no malice in your mind or heart in casting this spell. You may even state that itself to Her. Secondly, as I said earlier, assume responsibility for your actions! Don’t sit around and tell me “Oh I can’t help my friend because if I bind the man who’s beating the crap out of her on a regular basis, that interferes with his free will and that’s against the Wiccan Rede.” For Goddess’ sake, you’re a WICCAN! That’s what we do! Stop being a pansy and MAN UP!!! (forgive the “man up” thing ladies). I’m sorry for this long rant but I am sick and tired to death of the mamby pamby, warm and fuzzy, rainbows and butterflies, New Age c-r-a-p that has infiltrated my religion over the past few years. You are a Wiccan. You are a Wise One. Use your common sense. Clan Chieftains of old came to your ancestors seeking advise on war. Do you think that no matter what advise the Wiccan gave that no one was harmed? It was war! Which would you rather see, a child be safe or a child molester have their free will kept in tact? What if Libra’s ex becomes a raging psychopathic lunatic? I have worked in prisons for over twenty years. There’s no such thing as having a good ole heart to heart with someone like that.You should respect life and free will. But you have to use your heart and your intuitive powers at times, not to mention that old common sense, and make the decision to help those in need. In the end, the choice will be in your hands as to what course of action you take. |
