Pre-destiny

By ArcaneWanderer 2010-01-24 17:37:28
Pre-destiny. Certainly beautiful in some ways, such as indicating that two lovers, who go on to raise a family, did not meet by chance alone. Maybe the word chance is not correct here...

After all, luck itself isn’t a randomised bonus for some and fundamentally absent for others. I tend to see it as one of Karma’s fruits.

A person projects goodwill, fuels no hatred - never feeding their shadow aspect, and thus receives a return of the positive energy they’ve helped spread. The Threefold Law of course, will always play a vastly influential role in our lives.

Whether or not this energy of cause and effect follows us into other lives, is seriously debatable. Maybe it’s neutralised in the other dimensions that our Universe surely encloses, after we pass on.

Maybe it isn’t; because it becomes a part of us, an aspect. And here I suppose, rises the idea of harbouring Karmic debts...

Is not this presumption of free will an all too human conceptualisation that surely Pre-destiny, if it does indeed exist, is utterly above and beyond? Are we not limited in our use of free will anyway?

How many ‘threads’ leading to various fated outcomes can we after all, conceive / destroy, bound as we are within the physical plane alone?

Perhaps then in working the Craft, (which absolutely moves beyond the limits of a single realm of existence!) is then to truly exert free will as a human. Re-living those ancient connections to the Old World as we walk our individual paths, or even creating our own with enough experience.

And still, I cannot but remain sceptical of any term - ‘free will’ included, that some members of the Church enjoy bandying around so much in Philosophy. Which in my opinion is a poorly concealed ruse to cover up some serious logical errors on their part.

Particularly whilst attacking other faiths such as Wicca, that thankfully exist to aid in the persistence of our world culture’s crucial diversity.

Is Pre-destiny not akin to the great web of infinite outcomes and possibilities that the wonderful art of Divination may follow but a few threads at a time?
