Wrong use of Magic?

If you disagree with what I'm about to say, that's fine. Just be respectful, not rude.
Now, I'm a newbie to the Craft like alot of others. And, I notice a sort of....pattern. Newbies, and others, asking for spells to solve problems. Weight loss, relationship trouble, and so on. Now, the desire for a quick fix is evident in every human, so there's nothing wrong with it.
I just believe that every person who practices the Craft should be aware that magic isn't a quick fix solution. Sometimes, there is no magical way out of one of life's problems we face. Now, you older practicioners are probably going, "we already know this."
Good. Spread the word. Tell the newbies this. I'm not sure if magic has a thing against using for yourself like this, but it would be bad if a newbie tried to use a spell for something like this, and got themselves into magical trouble.
I'm not trying to be rude, and I hope I didn't insult anyone. Just think with common sense before doing a fix-it spell. Some of life's problems can't be fixed with magic.
Remember this. |

I just think it's important. |

It has been said that Magick really shouldn't be used unless totally necessary.
Personally, if I needed to lose weight, I would exercise (or fast...) and if I had relationship issues, I would either look at what I'm doing wrong, or if I keep finding the wrong kind of people, figure out how to find the kind I want and converse with them...
I would see magick as more of a booster. It allows your energy to be put more direct into what you are trying to get to. (And more, depending on what you practice, let it be herbalism, etc.)
But the first thing you must realize is that the base of magick is will. If you don't have the will to put your energy to a goal, it just won't happen.
There are no quick fixes in life. Even magick takes time. |

So, much of the energy comes from within. To accomplish Great Magick, a person must alter their thinking patterns greatly and this process can often take a lifetime. Am I to understand that not everyone knows this? |
