I am so confused

| Here is my problem. Since i have been studying Wicca, i have learned so much about the sabbats. I try to practice them whenever i can and i aknowledge them by meditating and saying a prayer or blessing. But i also celebrate the chritsian holidays like christmas, halloween, easter etc. Is it wrong to celebrate both religious holidays? I want to just be able to celebrate the wiccan holidays but i have been celebrating christian holidays since i was a child. What should i do? Any advice is welcome. |

That special sense that you have finally answered that little voice that has been calling to you all of your life. Wicca means many different things to many people, but above all it means family.
The Christian holidays you speak of are better known as times that a family comes together to be together. Do not create conflict where none exists. If you are welcome among your family during their religious holidays, then enjoy their company without guilt. Just because their chosen faith is different than yours does not mean that you are to turn your back on them. Balance is the lesson that is to be learned here. Find the balance between that which you believe and that which you are comfortable with and build from there. |

Granted, many of us try to embellish and add to their meaning and involvement, but they should never fall into the same category as other "holidays" - they are our "holy days".
There is nothing at all wrong with observing the Sabbats and Esbats as WELL as the traditional cultural holidays you have grown up with. Try to think of the Sabbats (specifically) as sacred times to honor and explore the greater mysteries, and leave the "other" holidays as special times to share with friends and family ;o) |
