Why cant we live out loud?

| why can't we live out loud? i know theres more than just me in augusta ga but everyones allways so secrective and even when u meet people they have a fear of letting others in. I want to have a meet place were we of pagan faith can get together and talk and worship and do things for the community. I dont want to hide! why is there god so much more worth worshiping than ours? )O( |

| Years of persecution Pagans in general into hiding. Christianity is not that forgiving when it comes to anything other than god. |

| I'm going to tell you a little story. it's about the Catholic church. See, christians invented the concept of a "holy war" after decided that if you didn't believe in their god, then you DIE. For some reason, this was exceptionally true for pagans. Even more so for witches, healers, shamen, etc. Eventually, they found away to kill us without making themselves look bad, thus Satan was invented based on the horned god. Now we all worshiped the devil and must be destroyed. This persecution never quite wore off, especially in the south and rural areas of europe. personally, i wear my pentacle around my wrist at all times, and if someone has a problem with it well too bad for them. i accept that some people feel safer in the broomcloset, but i've always been the weird kid, im comfortable being the weird kid, and i'm not going to let close-minded hillbillies stop me from exercising my faith to its fullest extent. |

| i know christain have done alot to us thats for sure but i am so sick of not beening able to live completely out loud i wear the goddess sysmbol around my neck i guess that will have to do. thanks for listen to me .it is comforting that i at least have this place to talk and let out my stuff. thanks for being there ,blessed be my friends. )O( |

| Not to sound unfeeling, and I don't know(nor do I mind) how you all practice, but I always found secrecy to be one of the most beautiful aspects of Wicca. I think we all can admitt that there are ancient spells and rituals, paased down from pagan to pagan throughout the centuries that we will never hear and will never pass thorugh our lips. These are spells so old and rare that our elders felt that only a select few of us are worthy to know them. Isn't that, in any way, exciting? It makes me want to know everything about our religion; go to the ends of the earth to learn as much as possible so that one day, I may be one of the worthy ones. Although I believe all people are worthy to practice Wicca(obviously, i mean, I come from no traditional Wicca family), and yes, perhaps the reason we are so secretive is due to years of persecution, there are certain aspects that should always be revered, secrecy is one of them. |
