im rather disappointed by the response to my "attempted mentor program" post, or lack there of. not by teachers, but by students. im constantly seeing "looking for a mentor/teacher" "help me! i need help on my path to witchcraft!" but yet again, the members of this community reach out, and yet again, nobody takes initiative to play an active roll in searching out their mentors or educators.
i mean i know the post gets pushed down? but all's it takes is a little scroll of the mouse wheel and some attention to be paid.
you have to understand that the gifts and knowledge of magic and witchcraft arent going to be handed to you on a silver platter. you have to do what all of us did: WORK for it!
so, once again, the community is reaching out (through my posting) and offering their services as mentors, teachers and educators. take some damn initiative, get off your asses, and message them! im reposting the attempted mentor program post.

okay i see a lot of new pagans wishing they had a teacher or mentor. and i know a few of us are qualified and offering our services as such.
so im starting this thread as help.
in this thread, if your in the position to teach or mentor, please post here.
please include things like, your faith (wiccan, pagan, neo-pagan, druid, etc. etc.) your teaching style (formal, informal, homework, etc.) things you consider your specialty or things you focus on, (i.e. divination, candle magic, element work, etc.) and anything else you'd like to include
(please dont post massive blocks of text, try to keep it relatively short)
the point of this thread is that hopefully new pagans will find it, and the list of people offering their time and expertise therein, and take the initiative to contact individual members themselves, proving they're at least willing to put in that bit of effort to initiate the learning process.
i understand eventually this post will get lost in the crowd. so i intend to copy and re-paste the list every once in a while if it gets too far down.

oh! p.s. this thread is for those offering their time and patience to mentor and teach. "students" please dont post on this thread. but feel free to message, personally, any member you feel would be able to help you on your path.
I MYSELF have been offering my time and services in this position for a while. but i figured i might as well have my "application" on here too.
I call myself simply a pagan with buddhist tendencies. but a lot of my beliefs coincide with those of Wicca, and wicca was the first branch of pagansim i studied in depth. so that is what i will be teaching. i teach "the basics" nothing too indepth, right off the bat. you need a solid foundation before you can build a house.
my teaching style is a mix of formal and informal. i do give some "homework" though. so be prepared to actually do some work, im not going to hand you knowledges of the crafts on a silver platter.
i work a lot with divination, intense visualizations and self exploration. as they say, The wise mold themselves. (i.e. i work with the inner realms more than outer realms but that doesnt mean i dont know how to exert my influence over the world around me)
please message my user account if your interested, dont post on this thread unless your offering your services and time.

sounds good. im a druid, trained in the elemental magicks, woodcraft, and animal shamanism. i also have knowledge of various psychic disciplines.
I teach with a path manual that i wrote (and other supplemental materials, also written) and a wide variety of guided meditations that require the student to thin outside the box. Each student is given an "test" of 20 questions to determine where they are on the path of their magickal journey.
i answer what questions i can and send the student to more qualified resources when i don't know or am unsure of the answer. i usually respond to all emails within 24 to 48 hours, so don't panic if don't get an immediate response.

I'm willing to help out with what I can.
I've been Eclectic Pagan for almost 4 years. I've followed the Egyptian pantheon closely but now consider myself a follower of the Goddess and the God.
I can teach:
Simple Crystal Healing
Egyptian Deities
Herbal Healing
Everyday-type magick
and I can answer most questions (Feel free to ask if I teach something that's not listed- I just might!)
I teach mainly in a Question and Answer method.
Feel free to message me. |
