I'm so annoyed that I don't know where to begin. First and foremost, there is no DEVIL in the craft. The people put that crap out there, the more we true Wiccans will be misunderstood. If you fancy yourself a satanist it is because you have issues with CHRISTIANITY. You go have fun then, OK? Mean while, quit calling yourself Wiccan.
To be Wiccan means many things, regardless of the Pantheons you chose from, regardless of the dieties you follow you should live by one specific rule. "And it harm none, do what ye will". If you go about casting spells for stupid reasons, you will find the universe not listening. If you have ritual for the wrong reasons, it will cease to have meaning.
The craft is not about malice, malady and strife. If You want that, there are other world religions you can choose from.
To me the closest world religion to the Craft is Buddhism. A great number of Buddhists ideals go hand in hand with Wicca.
If you are attracted to Wicca but really don't know what the words "EARTH TRADITION" mean, take your sorry self to religioustolerance.org. Read about the craft under "Wicca" and read about all the other religions while you're at it.
If you are 12 or 13 or any young adult, don't expect what you see in "Charmed" to be how it really goes. This is the Craft, not a namby pamby tv show with special effects and sorry plots. I really hate hollywood and I generally boycott all movies on Wicca or witchcraft, save one. "PRACTICAL MAGIC", it teaches many lessons so go watch it.
I'll leave you with my favorite phrase, "Keep rosemary by the garden gate, plant lavender for luck and fall in love whenever you can"
Please forgive my rant...I feel better.
Blessed be

I totally agree with you. I would have become a Buddhist if I hadn't found the Craft.

I agree.
There are certain things that one must follow to be Wiccan.
Otherwise it's not Wicca. Just witchcraft.
The mainframe/Structure of Wicca includes two polar male and female deities who, although are wise enough to know that there must be negative to positive, are nothing like the Christian foe Satan.
Besides, Wiccans have worked so hard to push our image and reputation from being "Devil worshipers" For someone to call themselves a Satanist Wiccan would just be insulting to the rest of us who want nothing to do with Satanism and would be damaging our image.

When I see things like that, I just roll my eyes and pray that they either grow up and realize what Wicca is and start calling themseleves something different, or get bored with it and leave.

Bravo Alura and to my other Wiccan Sisters, I so agree with you and I am also very tired of all the nonsense and lies out there in the TV and so called real world.
I would say, if you don't know what Wicca is and want to know more, read a book about it !!
glad you are feeling better, it helps to vent sometimes
Blessed Be
