anyone care to share a bit of the celtic wiccan ways? I learned some things a few months ago, however there is nothing in my town to attend that shares wiccan values

Hey welcome aboard! Amongst the teeny boppers and the satanists you'll find a few REAL witches...like me-and several other people who take the craft seriously. Not just as a religion but as a way of life! Within the Celtic path are several other paths as well. I am Avalonian. You also have Celtic, Celtic eclectic, Celtic Fairy, Celtic garden, Celtic Druid, and some others.
As a general Celtic path you'd be following the ways of those who reigned from the Isles, mainly Wales and Ireland but also England and Scotland. although the Brits tend to claim Celtic as solely theirs.
I recommend all and any books by John and Kaitland Matthews, by far the authorities on Celtic Ways. Also Edain McCoy is very good. You can get used books CHEAP on abebooks .com.
there are excellent websites too, like the Witches Cottage by Red Selchie. If you can find it with google, it's cute!
The Sacred Mists is an online community that I adore-I'm a member too. You can join for free but the school costs.
My online store, themysticalcupboard. com has all sorts of awesome stuff for practice, always discounted! We only take paypal right now though-it is secure to pay thru their site...
What would you like to know?

I am new to the site and Wiccan ways. I want to meet other people in CT that share these interests. Meetings? No negative people though, just positive learning.

What's the differance between the celtic groups?

Sorry if I make you angry. I'm just so curious. I wanna know as much as possible.

What's a teeny-bopper?

Posted by alura on 2010-10-26 20:57:32
Ame, A teeny bopper is a little kid-aka everyone under 18...

As for the differences in the Celtic paths it may be whether you place more value on nature or Gods or Goddesses or Fairies or the Isle of Avalon. The Gods and Goddesses are mostly the same. It just depends what sort of path you are most attracted to.

You see, Ame, Alura's extremely ageist. She gets very butthurt when she sees anyone who's under the age of 18 praciting /her/ Wicca. Sad, really. Just shows another wayward Wiccan.

FYI Alura, you can be a witch and a Satanist/Atheist/etc too. Witchcraft is just the practice.

Ah, I see.

You are right, Luna. My friend Raito is an 'atheist with witchy tendencies'.

People ave the right to follow what ever they choose, so why not?

Alura can you tell me which books I should read to better understand the Celtic ways?

Posted by Jaffyb on 2010-10-28 18:41:27
Hmmm, So there is more wicca that use craft as a way of life, interesting. Every one i have known is just trying something new, but here at wiccan space you will find people who will talk to you and help you learn.

Note:
Alura is very knowledgeable so if she tell you something listen and give some respect. Not that any disrespect was shown, just trying to act human for once i guess solitary wicca is lonely i find and i cannot relate well to others. Nor do i always sound nice.
