Broom Cupboard

I have decided to come out of the broom cupboard. (Well gradually).
I have many fears about this because many people are "afraid" of witch craft.
My mum in particular doesn't believe Wicca is a religion, thus why I haven't told her.
I have chosen my first step putting my religion on the 'site that seems to run peoples lives and it must be true if it’s on there' Facebook and see what happens.
This is where my fears begin.
My sister-in-law to be already makes me feel small and worthless at the best of times. I always feel like she is judging me.
The people I know see Wicca as a silly faze teens go through, but I really do get something from Wicca.
I and my fiancé are planning to move out and I am hoping to be able to practice without being judged. My fiancé is very supportive even though he is not a religious person.
Can anyone give me some advice?
Thank you blessed be.

Just remember that this is your life and you don't have to appease those around you just to give yourself value. You know that Wicca is important to you and you know how it makes you feel. Those around you don't. Unless they can read your mind, they don't know.
Focus on yourself. If your worried about how they will judge you, then don't tell them. If there is a real need for them to know you're a witch, then tell them. If not, don't put yourself through the agony. You can still be a witch if no one knows you are.
I know firsthand how difficult people can be when you tell them how you really feel, and what you really believe in. That's why I don't anymore. Only I truly understand what my beliefs are. They are no concern of anyone elses.
Good luck. |

Good stuff! Also remember, Wicca is a way of life, not only a religion. To live as one with the Mother requires following your path a certain way. Good luck!!

| I agree! Earlier, in this life journey, I believed I must declare who I was, the wonderful things I saw so clearly (and so many didn't), and sing the praises of the Goddess to b WHO I was before anyone could truly know me or communicate. And at that stage, it was true. But I passed into another goddess phase (Goddess worship). I prefer to use my energy differently now. I don't have to spend as much energy on shields (for me and those around me). Solitary practice is lonely sometimes, but productive. |
