You're not the only one who has asked a question like this one. First I have to say that, yes, the Craft can use the energies of the universe to manifest what you desire to change or influence...BUT, you cannot change what is to be predestined and sometimes things will happen beyond our control. Now, with that said, onto the spell! The MOST important thing, what I always tell those who ask me is this: WILL. If you will it strong enough that power will go out into the universe to work it's magic! BAM! Anyway...if you are new to casting here is what I would suggest: most people new to casting work better when they have an object, sooo I really don't know what kind of surgery your mother would be going for, but perhaps use a piece of jewlery that she always wears and concentrate your spell around that. Now, what few new practitioners realize is that you CAN write your own spell. It is very simple. First, state the purpose, then state how you expect it to come about, add a protective catch-all if you know what I mean (such as "and it harm none") and finish it off with "As I will so mote it be"! Bam, spell, any spell of your choosing. Don't forget to center and ground yourself first, I think I wrote about that under spells...hmmm. Hope that helped!
