Lunar Eclipse
Posted by AlmostWitch137 on 2010-12-20 15:30:59
Ladies and Gentlemen.

For the first time in 632 years, the winter solstice festivities will include a total lunar eclipse.

This is not the first lunar eclipse in 632 years. This is the first lunar eclipse landing on Yule in 632 years.

Its a very exciting concept especially for pagans of all kinds celebrating the solstice.

You can see the eclipse best from North America and western South America. In most of Europe and Africa the moon will dip below the horizon mid-eclipse.

Shortly after 1:33am ET Tonight, the eclipse will begin.

Totality (or the total eclipsing of the moon by the earth) will begin around 2:41am ET and will last just over 70 minutes.

The last hint of the earths shadow will disappear from the moon at about 5:00am ET.

If your timezone is not Eastern Time, you can find out when the eclipse will occur in your time zone by googling a time zone converter.

Hoping the weather is fine enough where you are to see it!

Have a blessed solstice everybody!
