Justin,
Sixteen huh... well, there are a lot of people on here that are definitely in your age group! So you will right at home! *smiles*
I guess the first question is what area of Wicca do you want to learn? Do you want to learn about the more reverent and religious side of it? Do you want to learn only about the practical / practice side of it? Or Do you want to combine the two as a whole?
How one approaches the learning of Wicca depends on the individual Seeker. Everyone has a different way of learning and the best way to learn is to get the knowledge to you in the best manner that you learn! Do you understand what I'm trying to say..
Sometimes I find myself trying to get a thought and idea across but not getting the words out right. *rolls eyes* but that's my flaw *grins*
I've been interested and studying since I was around 12, but in no way do I feel that I have learnt everything that I feel that I need to. Mainly, I concentrate on Hedgery or Kitchen Knowledge. Very basic and natural for me. I feel the most connection in energy raised from wildness of Nature.
If you have specific questions, Please ask. I'm sure that there are Many here that will help you in any way they can.
I can tell you that in my experience that Labels are unnecessary. Ask any question that you have and someone will help you. The reason I say that, and this is simple My Opinion... and everyone has an opinion which it is okay to have one different!
(to me:)Wicca is more about the spiritual part. The reverence to the Divine, However you best relate to Them/Him/Her. Many Witches are also Wiccan, and many Wiccan are also Witches, But not all Witches are Wiccan. In other words. Some Witches incorporate the religious in their practice and others choose not to. The same goes for those who have mainly incorporated the religious aspect into their lives. It Overlaps!
Blessed Be!

Green is right, there are any different variations of wicca.
Try this website:
religioustolerance.org
They have a huge section on wicca, and some info on witchcraft as well. The two are not the same. Find a path that works best for you. The great thing about witchcraft is that you don't hae to follow a strict set o rules. The practice can be molded to fit what you as an individual believe.
Good luck!

| I agree that the religious tolerance site is a good one, but try to find a copy of "Solitary Witch" by Silver Ravenwolf. Also might be called "The Ultimate Book of Shadows for the New Generation". It has a lot of good data on the history, theory, and practice of Wicca. Take from it what you feel is right and build on it as you learn more. |
