| iam looking for answers, i have always felt a calling to the gods like they are trying to tell me something,my dads side has always been kept a mystery to me, my moms side wont talk about his side of the family only saying they were weird bunch and iam just like them. i have tried everything i can to find out some things but nothing yet...looking for a more experienced pagan for help and guildence..email at jurrettyroo420@yahoo.com |

| Part of growing up is learning how to be your own parent. Just be the best person you can be and follow your own dreams. It sounds kind of insulting, what your mother said about you "being just like your father" when they have cut that side of the family off from contact for being "weird." Honestly, it's not worth your time obsessing about. Chasing ghosts doesn't help you get through school, get a job or pay the rent. Besides, what do you think you will gain by learning about this "family secret? Usually these secrets aren't pretty; the person may be in jail, be abusive, have an alcohol problem, etc. By hiding the truth from you, your mom's side of the family is probably trying to protect themselves from shame. Sorry, not meant to be insulting, but you have to consider their motivation. Anyway, I suggest you don't press the issue. The truth will come out at the appropriate time. Just focus on being the best person you can be right now. Hope that helps. BTW, my family has a few "cousins" we don't talk about. I found out later they were heroin addicts and prostitutes. So yeah, it was embarrassing for the family to talk about. I only found out the truth after these sad individuals died. |
