Hi Folks,
It looks like Wiccan Space is under attack by a 419 scammer. Probably the same person has sent me messages from two Wiccan Space accounts:
roseprettyy4u
mambo
The messages start with very bad english and go something like this:
Am Rose, lady of 24 years of age,I saw your profile which interested me much and i decided to contact you.I really want to have a good friendship with you
i want us to be friends ok ,i have a reason of
selecting you as my friend, pls if you wish to know my reasons try contact me
through this my email. We need to talk and
know ourself more and equally share pictures to each other.hope to hear
from you.
If you reply to their message, they give you a long story about how they need your help getting $$ out of the bank. They promise you a reward.
WHATEVER YOU DO: DO NOT REPLY TO THESE SCAMMERS. I am sure we have all heard of the Nigerian 419 scam. (Although this person roseprettyy4u claims to be from Liberia). Basically: Someone from Africa claims to have millions of dollars locked up in an account in the USA and they just need your help getting it back. It's an advance-fee fraud; they ask you for a few hundred dollars at first, just to pay some "lawyers." It turns into a promise of 1 million dollars if you help them through their "problem".
People have been lured to Lagos where they have been kidnapped by these 419 scammers. That's the game. They get you to pay money for as long as they can, then they lure you to fly to Africa to "sign some legal documents." Then you're held for ransom in a hotel right next to the airport until your family comes up with 20-to-40 thousand dollars.
I am shocked that there are still people who fall for this old trick, but there are. Please don't be one of them. Heck, the FBI even has a web page about them:

I'm actually thinking of quitting Wiccanspace because there's no activity, the only messages I get are spam, and nobody even returns any messages. I was hoping to meet Wiccan people especially in my area but I guess this site is not the place to do it.

You might try meetup.com or Yahoo Groups. I'm sure there are pagan people in your area. One of the best things to do is become friendly with your local metaphysical book store. Lots of times these shops will conduct classes. You can take an intro-to-wicca class and meet other like-minded people. Go to public circles in your area. If you look around, you will find other people in your area.

Yes, i got a message from one of those people. It starts with them asking for help, then they tell you that they are in a bad situation and need you to help deal with a large sum of money. So be cautious. And may peace and love be with all of you.
