Are we being hypocrits?

I've been seeing this around.

Why are we dissing Xtians and the like? I'm seeing quotes and other stuff about how bad they are. How they oppressed other religions and what not. No doubt they did, but how perfect are we, exactly?

How tolerant of others are we?

Look at us, we argue with each other over what wiccan/witch/pagan belief is right. Now we turn our gaze upon the other religions of the world? How can we expect them to be tolerant when we spread words like this amongst ourselves?

Face, all religion, INCLUDING ours, has intolerance threaded into it. No religion is completely okay with another. Why can't we just accept this and blow it off? Maybe we should stop bickering with each other because someone wants to be a witch and something else at the same time. Maybe we should stop refusing to help those who don't belive in the goddess.

They don't have to. Be tolerant.

Now, for those of you who are upset at what I just said, let me have it. I'm a big girl, I can handle it. For those of you who aren't, congrats on being a step closer to being tolerant.

I absolutely agree - there is no need or place for sowing seeds of disrespect and provocation... I agree that if we expect tolerance we should be tolerant... live and let live...

BUT... I also believe we should be thoughtful and reflective on our differences of belief as well, for the preservation of our own understanding of Truth, meaning, purpose, etc... recognizing that not all "religions", doctrines, and philosophies are inherently tolerant, and thus some are directly threatening (by their teaching) to our way of life and living. BUT... I believe the best response is to be just that more more comfortable, confident, and convicted to our own ideas... and where "they" may sow un-truths, intolerance, prejudice, and despise... we can choose to sow truth, acceptance, tolerance, equality, and respect. "What ye send forth, comes back to thee"... and in this matter we can strive to express Perfect Love and Perfect Truth... hopefully demonstrating what it means to be a Wise One ;o)

Good stuff!

love this post. I have to say that it's nothing but how people treat one another. No matter what religion you are. Be good to those who are good and have wronged you. That is true in all religions. You must treat all with respect no matter what.

Yes,,and I woould like to add,,wiccans/pagans,,seem awfully tolerant of the muslim faith which is just like the christian burning times,,witches are put to death,,as are homosexuals,,and others of other non muslim faiths. Yet you rarely hear a peep about it. The violent religion of islam is spreading,,and their is no place in it for witches, except to be stoned,,hanged,,burned. and NO,,islam is not basicaly a peacefull religion.
