chrisrianity vs. wicca

OK, I am so sick of Christians judging me and calling me evil!!! Just because I wear a 5 pointed star!! Its not fair to be discriminated like this! I hate that I'm going to have to celebrate ostara in solitude! All because my own parents would talk bad about me behind my back and look down on me:'(

I feel your pain... my parents dont even know i am wiccan...chin up dude... it gets better... i found a man who loves me for who i am and now i can freely celebrate all the esbats and sabbats in our yard and he doesnt even mind...the only people who dont know i am wiccan are my parents...i am much happier now... IT WILL GET BETTER! It wont always be this way...ur parents opinion and the opinions of others do not matter, just urs. Remember that. Cheer up and enjoy ur ostara holiday, alone or not it is the spirit of the holiday that really matters... and it is a time of celebration and new beginnings, so rejoice in that!

Relax. It sucks but it'll never really go away. Each religion, even Xtianity, has it's haters. And every religion dicriminates against another. Even those who don't have religious beliefs get crap.

It sucks, but try to be strong enough to not let it bother you.

Tell those christians that they need to study on what they discriminate. For example, the only dark part to a star is inverted. But then again, I am trying to work something out of a "Bella" situation with one. Tell them that the cross is evil, because each of the four points represent an element and that the longer end points to hell. ^^

Even the upside down pentacle represents that you have obtained second degree. As you said "study".

My boyfriend is Christian and I am a witch. This can make things difficult for anyone and it is a constant struggle. But don't let their judgements turn you against Christian people in general because obviously not all think that way and you don't want to turn out judging just like them. So instead remember its all about understanding and people fear what they do not understand hence phobias of the dark, meat eaters vs. vegetarians etc. Christians are suppossed to love their enemies (its in the Bible; bigtime) but when my boyfriend stopped freaking out (he's a preachers kid) then we talked and he got an understanding of what I am. I worship love for this Earth, we recycle together, plant herbs, make tinctures, eat healthy, and celebrate all the holidays (pagan and christian) out of respect for each other. Remember, there is nothing wrong with you but you should be prepared to explain you're religion if someone asks questions. Don't get defensive (thats what they usually want.) When someone makes a comment or asks a question about why I wear a naked woman on a pentacle around my neck I see it as an opportunuty everytime to teach someone about the Wiccan Ways. Thats (hopefully) one more person walking around being less judgemental about something a few minutes ago they knew little or nothing about. Good Luck. Don't change who you are; embrace it.

Hi, I am new to the boards. I was raised Catholic. This would shock my family to the point of not speaking to me. I feel for you. Heck, I am afraid to tell anyone. My husband is perfectly fine with it but even some of my closest friends look at me like I have three heads. LOL.

I am a Wiccan but I also believe in God. God has blessed me as well as the Goddess and God within my Wiccan belief. Some people always ask how can you believe in both. Well, I hate no religion and welcome new learning experiences of both. They are both wise and give information in which education me further and my path of life. There has always been an intrigue of nature and just feeling happy when I feel the sun against my skin. I feel at home when I look up at the stars and the moon. When I see the trees I am truly at peace with them. That is the Wiccan in me. And when I pray to God for blessing us with this beauty and still pray to the deities for keeping this world wonderous. I know I believe. And btw, you are not a christian when you judge people for what they believe in. You are supposed to love all no matter what. And that is also within the Wiccan belief. Love all. Karma is always something that wins in the end.

I'm new here. The reason I am even here is because of what I see on Christian TV. It's crazy. Mostly poor people giving their hard earned money to millionaire preachers in hopes that a 'miracle' will happen. I believe organized religion controls through fear, playing on people's needs, doubts, insecurity. weaknesses, illnesses. That is sick and very sad.
