Need a little help, im confused. maiden or mother?
Posted by ShadowTalon on 2011-03-20 18:15:04
Last week, I finally took the big leap and gave myself to the man I love. But now I don't know where I stand in the three. As a virgin, I was Maiden. But no longer being such, that would make me Mother right? I'm not sure. I'm not a virgin but I am not bearing a child either. Not for a cuple more years anyway. In my mind, this puts me in the middle, but does a middle of the two even igsist?( i honestly have no idea how to spell that word) So what I'm asking is a little clarification of where I stand in the great three.

Thank you blessed be, my brothers and sisters!

The original defintion of virgin was an unmarried woman. You can be with as many as you want and be a maiden but until you dedicate yourself to only one man for life you can be a maiden. I have seen many cases where even after childbirth a woman more fit the maiden aspect. The mother aspect comes with age as does the crone aspect but most of it is what you feel.

I'm with hazel there...

... sounds pretty dead on.

I have to agree with Hazel as well. It is in how you see and feel about yourself, as is most of wicca. I wouldn't dwell on it to hard just feel and see what comes of it.

Well keep working on it and the Mother part will come soon enough. You are in transition as the wheel of the year is in constant transition. Enjoy the transition and don't think too much about it. You need not fuss over it.

thanks everybody. i was just really confused and admittedly fussing for a little bit because one of my elder sisters at hjeart asked me to represent the maiden in her handfasting so i wasnt sure if it would have any effect one the event and what not.

Another way to look at it would be knowledge. your young and you do not know what a mother knows, not only with children but with the craft. gain your knowledge, it is a privaledge to be considered "mother" You just keep on what your doing and you'll work your way to where you need to be. The light illumine you.
