Trying new herbal face wash for acne
Posted by naturefaeriechick on 2011-03-22 15:42:50
I am 24 and have dealt with acne since I was a pre-teen. Over the last several years I have been moving to more natural, organic remedies for most of my ailments. Not before spending money on expensive treatments such as Proactive, Meaningful Beauty, Youthful Essence, and just about every drugstore product out there. I decided to take what I know about herbs and use them together in a face wash. I boiled about 4 cups of water with rose hips, lavender, calendula, chamomile for about 5 min. then let it simmer for 10 min. I strained the herbs then let it cool added and added about a Tbs. of tea tree oil and 3 Tbs. of witch hazel. I shook it up and took a little and rubbed it all over then rinsed with cool water. I have oily/combination/sensitive skin but after patting my face dry the area under my nose wasn't red and flakey, my forehead wasn't oily and my face wasn't tight and dry like most of the time. My face felt refreshed and pores appeared smaller (I have really large pores.) I have only used it a few times so far but it seems to work great and all I put on after is sunscreen (no big process.) I think at the local health food store I spent about $6 or less for my herbs (organic) and I got a full pint size mason jar full of wash out of it. I hope this helps others who are afflicted by a condition that is embarrassing and even painful like I am. I will make updates after I have given this treatment several days to work and keep those posted who want to know more. Blessed Be.

Thanks all; I am considering going to school to become a Master Herbalist and develop my own line of herbal remedies. Still practicing and researching (of course) but I would obtain the knowledge to help people in a homeopathic way and I think most of us could use more of that. Will keep you posted.
