The craft is a huge part of who I am, and lately I've been ignoring it, like it wasn't there. I think it's been a big part of my lethargy lately.
The most magic I've done lately has been a simple imagination spell involving a drawn labyrinth and a simple faerie invocation followed by sleep. I've neglected sabbats and forgotten my Gods. I've let my laziness take over. As a nearly life-long practitioner, I'm upset with myself. I need... A coven where I can learn and grow. People of a like mind, who can learn and grow with me. Study of mind, body, and spirit, to be at peace with ones self. Full control, full spiritual awakening. It's been a long time coming, too long.
A good ritual would really help me right now, I think. A nice, simple invocation, easy spell, quiet libation,. Possibly a meditative trance. But I'm not meant to do it alone all of the time. I need people who can share their belief and energy, take things to the next level - brothers and sisters, family. People who share similar beliefs, but differences of faith mean nothing as long as a shared goal exists, and a camaraderie is found. Metaphysics is a strange and fickle craft to take on, there are a lot of things you need to be careful about, especially when performing spells and rituals. Trust must be built and doubts severed from the mind. Magic is... So much different than it's been portrayed in the media. So much more involved. Difficult. Eratic. A certain level is necessary, level of trust, level of belief, level of commitment... A certain outlook on life and beauty, love and friendship, a certain outlook on family.
Family, most of all, is the important thing. Blood-tie are always strong, but not all family is in blood. Not all love is romantic. I want a large, extended family, people I feel safe around, people I could count on for advice and understanding. A willingness to love and trust is key - I've been hurt so much, but I can't give up. But bonds like I'm talking about don't form overnight. I'm looking for a click so perfect you can hear it! I've heard it before, once. I know what I need.
Open-minded, open-hearted, a sense of humor, a strong moral compass, easy-going but determined, a strong heart; these are necessary to me. All you need is a will to learn and grow, I don't care if you've never been in a ritual before or are a seasoned practitioner. Of course, a measure of maturity and real spiritual beliefs are necessary, no little "lets be witches because it's trendy" kids; I've been doing spells since I was about ten, I've no patience for people who aren't serious. But still, wheat I'm talking about goes beyond the craft, beyond study - I'm looking for a spiritual reinvention that can only be achieved by becoming something more than a group of people who chill and read and practice magic together - I want to find real, true friends, people who I can feel proud to call brother or sister. I want to watch us grow and evolve together. I want us to bring new and exciting things to each others lives, learn to work together, and know we can always trust each other with anything, with everything. To unify, and in turn, to amplify the powers we possess.
I know the rest of my family is out there. You must feel it; like myself you must feel lost, alone, like something is missing in your life. Misplaced, kind of like an outsider. Even when you do seem to be fitting in. Sickened by mainstream media, hating that so many people watch and consume garbage en masse. Confused by the startling lack of common sense in the world. |
