How does a belief become a religion? In order for some belief systems to become a religion it must believe in something of the higher being or power. Good examples of this are the religion named Wicca and Christianity. Both of these religions believe in a higher power however not both pray or believe in different gods or goddess. In addition, Christianity believes in only one god, Wicca believes in the god and goddess in many forms therefore Wicca is a polytheistic religion. As one can see not every religion follows the same system or traditional values. Both of these religions have had an impact on the world we live in today.
Wicca is a belief system based on worshipping a god and a goddess. Unfortunately, it is not that easy just to worship something you also have to pray and have daily rituals. Along the sides of this are the rules of course that no Wicca practicing person can deny or not follow in anyway. The poem is titled the Wiccan Rede. The rede tells one about the holidays the rituals and rules. The most valued line of the whole rede is the following “harm ye none and do as ye will”. This entitles a person as long as they are not hurting anything to do what they want. This is very flexible in ways for the following, if a person is to cast out negativity, one must know where to cast it and never direct it at anyone. Christianity follows what is called candle magic when one lights a candle for there sin or troubles. One god
Christianity is a well-known and well-populated religion. Christianity believes in only one god named Jehovah. In this religion, the people follow the teaching of the bible and the Old Testament. In the religion of Christianity, the bible is the sacred book. The most widely used quotation from the bible is “thou shall not sin”, this means that sins are wrongful actions in ones life. There are seven deadly sins one of the most enduring is greed. How can one not feel greedy at one point in their life or another? There is very few people that can completely live there life with out greed. Another key point in the religion of Christianity is when a person sins or has done something terribly wrong and knows it they have to confess to it and be forgiven for the wrongful actions.
Christianity has an array of ways that the religion itself affects people in a social way. However, Wicca is supposed to be secret. On the other hand, how can Wicca defend itself if we are to keep secret there for we cannot? The wiccans have there own way of effecting people socially. Wiccans have finally got there hands on a radio station however if you look on TV you will find many shows that deal with Wicca but its all fake. All the time wiccans are helping people but you just may not know that they are wiccans. Christians help people too but they are very church orientated, wiccans are also church orientated but they mean two different things to these two defend groups.
Listed above are two completely different religions. Both of the religions worship a god/dess. Yet both are following traditions passed down from hundreds of years ago. Wicca and Christianity effect people either way weather it be socially, economically or political. Everyday a person is affected by some sort of religion even if they are agnostic there is your belief and it is seen as a religion. In order for a belief to become a religion you must have some laws, something of higher power to worship and a group of people to follow one into this belief.
