For those who find it hard to focus during meditation |

I have always had a real hard time trying to focus my mind during meditation. all the stress just piles itself like a bunch of client files...one on top of the other. Until the purpose of the meditation becomes pointless.
Well...I have been researching how to make it easier to meditate. I held a circle on Monday and tried out some of my new techniques. I have found it easier to meditate if I replace my aimless thoughts with a simple trance. Kind of like hypnotising myself. I picture the circle moving counter clockwise around me. I start by saying,"Earth" Then I force the circle to go around until the corner for Air is directly infront of me and I say, "Air"
Closing my eyes I picture the circle going around me as I call each corner. Just chant the words: Earth, Air, Fire, Water.
Say them over and over and over. Within a couple of minutes you will notice that you have slowed the chant down in your head. Almost like the feeling of losing words and having a blank mind. The word swill fade and you will be blanketed in darkness.
Now this is hard to accomplish for a long period of time. You will notice that the thoughts will start to intrude again. Just pick up with the chant and start repeating it to yourself again until the words slur in your head. I found it very relaxing.
Of course you can choose anything you want to...as far as chanting.
ex:
Earth, Air, Fire, Water
North, East, South, West
1, 2, 3, 4...
red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple
peace, love, strength, peace, love, strength
...or you can always chant whatever it is that you are working the ritual for.
ex:
grant me the strength, grant me the right, grant me the power, to see with your light.
I banish negativity, I banish fear, I banishe weakness, I open my heart to heal.
...once again as I have said through out my other spells. Creativity is a must. It is what makes you orignial in your work. It will help you gain what ever you are seeking. Don't think too hard about what you want to say. It only took me a couple of seconds to think of the chants I've already written. It will come to you through yourself if you just sit and breath it out in one breath. Don't ever force anything. It doesn't have to rhyme...it doesn't even have to flow or make sense. As long as it came from within you...that is all that matters.
Try not to chant outloud. Chant quietly against your mind, and you'll see the fog start to disappear with the weight of your stress. |
